Vintage domestic metal finds great places to hide. To find it, you have to put in some effort. That was Tom Cotter's intention when he set out on his trip from Midland, Texas to McPherson, Kansas: Go to places you wouldn't normally travel with the hopes of stumbling on some killer cars. And that's exactly what he did.
While rumbling through northern Texas near Amarillo, Cotter, who hosts Hagerty's Barn Find Hunter YouTube series, came upon a small shop housing a handful of desirable vintage machines. After looking over the beautifully restored Willys Overland outside, he met the owner, Roy Taylor, who showed him around a lovely 1959 Chevy Impala two-door with a 348 cubic-inch V-8 under the hood. Taylor then takes Cotter inside to show off his beautifully-kept 1964 Malibu with a Corvette engine under the hood.
From there, Cotter gets a tour around a stunning straight-eight-powered 1948 Pontiac streamliner that's been off the road for the last 63 years. It's amazing the things you can find once you travel off the beaten path.
